PeterW Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I'm on the look out for a couple of 12V 4A power supplies (for 17" TFTs), I'm not really fussed whats on the DC end as I will prolly just put on the correct DC plug if required. Its for myself personally I will pay postage and maybe a small amount for the adaptors them selves. Will also consider swaps if you are after anything Help me Edugeek your my only hope!
Hacksawbob Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 4 amps is pretty juicy my monitor bricks are max 1.5 A These guys are really helpful Audio Video Accessories and Electronic Components Online - Bolton UK if you dont mind a bit of ugly hacking then you can use the 12V feed from an ATX supply (just checked its 12V at 10 amps on one lying next to me.) Probably best to fit an inline automotive fuse just to be on the safe side and dont use puny copper wire at least the guage of the existing wire and best if you make the join to your cable from a soldered and heat shrink covered join.

Afraid I guard my old power adapters like a rabid pitbull... You never know when you'll need one!!
