Haha,

Ours do that when they are updating as well,

Apparently a new version is out, i got this from our supplier

"Notification of planned maintenance on the:

Work: Release of CachePilot upgrade nub to v5.1.3

Type: Planned Upgrade Work

Status: Open

Maintenance Window:

Start: Sat 14 Feb 2009 @ 22:00

End: Sun 15 Jan 2009 @ 23:59

Expected work duration: N/A

Expected Impact: All CachePilots will download and apply the upgrade nub overnight following release.

Summary:

Easynet and Equiinet are pleased to announce that all CachePilots will be upgraded to v5.1.3 code over the half term weekend. This latest version of CachePilot code provides support for the enhanced XL SmartFilter list.

All CachePilots (which are connected to the Internet and powered up) will automatically download and apply the nub over night on the 14th Feb. Boxes that are disconnected or powered down will download and apply the nub overnight the next time they connect.

It would be greatly appreciated if all Schools could leave their CachePilots connected and powered up over the half term to facilitate this upgrade.

All settings (including bespoke Filters) on School CachePilots will be maintained, though filter administrators will notice the addition of some new categories."

They've probably just upgraded you but dont have the sense to do it at a time when nobody is using it.

Its probably not much use to you it was from the South Tyneside learning platform site so it only really applies to schools in South Tyneside.

Welcome to South Tyneside .learning

Just posted it to show there is an update, different regions probably have different ideas on how best to update.

No warning during a school day probably isnt the best way of doing it
