Not had much of a play with it but think I could get used to it

Still unable to activate it - and notice that it goes by number of times you OPEN Office, not the number of days.

Yeh, I keep wanting to kick myself everytime I accidentally open Outlook instead of Firefox right next to it.

Especially as I can't even check my email lol

Still unable to activate it

Moi aussi.

Interesting that although they've changed all the look and layout of the thing, they still haven't worked out a decent error message...

"The Activation Wizard is unable to find a connection to the Internet. Please make sure that your connection is working properly and then retry activation in a few minutes"

(it must be *your* fault, silly damned user - don't even think about blaming us for not being able to find your internet connection :cussing:)

Do you think that this particular wizard can't find/use proxy servers? Has anyone successfully activated it??

just checked the Office Beta website and there does seem to be a problem with online activation but MS arent providing a telephone activation option :( guess we'll have to wait ....

Downloading it now ( Want to try it out and see what it is like ) Hopefully I chose the right download as there were about 20 to choose from lol. I chose the ms pro 2007 plus which was the first in the list.

Is it just me or is there a noticable delay between pressing a key and a character appearing on the screen when using Word or Outlook? It's not major but it's certainly there.

I have been using it for a couple of days, 1stly backwards compatability is no issue, its fine with Office 2003. The PDF feature is brill! Just what its been missing, no delays, and activated fine this morning. So far so good.

I have to say, I'm normally pretty skeptical about software upgrades and the like, but I do quite like this. The only downside for me is the speed factor :| does feel a bit choppy every now and again. But the new GUI is great, although personally I would of had a "custom" menu tab thing as well. So I could put the ones I use the most on there for easy access.

Shame its so slow! :(

Ok, but what about Office 97,2k,XP and Oo.org?

Opens all my office 2000 documents fine. AND It doesn't automatically convert them to the new format (which is good) you have to conciously make the decision to convert them.

It has a thing called "Compatibility Checker" so you can check inside the program how well it will work with previous versions of Office.

Which is nice

just had an odd problem - had been viewing my new AUP in the beta, hand 2 other documents open at the same time - but when i saved the AUP it merged the other 2 documents inside it!! so ended up with one huge document :(

Just wondering if anyone else has had something similar happen?
