Not sure if they work with yours, not even sure it has a parallel port. PassMark Loopback Parallel & Serial port pinouts
TechSupp Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 There is a toshiba bios password reset floppy disk as well if you have a USB floppy available. I don't think the A300 has an LPT port but I can vouch for the loop back working on older models as I had to make one up the other week for an A40 I think it was, plug in, boot, password removed. Anyone know why its Toshibas that seem to have this self setting bios password problem. Thought it would have been fixed by now.
OutToLunch Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I generally seem to have a lot of luck with CmosPwd - CGSecurity - not sure if it will work on that model but if you can get into Windows to run it then it's worth a go. Usually spits out a list of various gibberish passwords that don't work and one human readable line that tends to be the password.

OutToLunch Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Parallel port was really only the old Toshiba's that I'm aware of. Have you tried a USB floppy drive + keydisk? one way to reset it... CmosPwd - CGSecurity - get keydisk.exe here. (May not be accessible at work if you have a filter that blocks 'hacking' sites) Alternative is taking the whole thing apart and hoping you can find a CMOS reset jumper...

DevilsAdvocate Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) We had some student A200's that magically had BIOS passwords put on them (for home use, so we do nothing but give them the laptop). I don't know how similar the A300's are to these but what I had to do was - Remove the battery Remove the memory slot cover Remove the memory Look for a small 'W' shaped area and short it against the case. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f14/devilsadvocate1337/Untitled-1-2.jpg This cleared the BIOS and the password. Achandler Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I would have assumed (from my time fixing Toshiba laptops) that shorting it only requires you to "link" the two bits together with a screwdriver, well thats what we use to do. But yes Toshiba still do and probably always will randomly set a BIOS because they simply felt like it.

clareq Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 According to the Toshiba website you need a piece of software, usually pre-installed, called Toshiba Assist. the BIOS password is managed from the security tab within that software.
kvnnos Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 it's so easy!!! i contact with Toshiba Customer Support and gave me those instructions: When the system start press F2 get inside the bios sytem, go to Security field and then to set a password. Set the password that already use then press Enter and press Enter 2 times again. The password now has been disabled from the laptop. It is ok now! i solve the problem! thanks for your interest!

This method is not clearing bios password even after shorting ◄ ► shaped area . can you guide me further ? Joanne Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Yeah an old post, but just to add to it... Leave the battery in (with some charge) it didn't work with the battery out. My two connectors were hiding under a sticker! Once I shorted them together with a screwdriver with the battery in, it worked a dream. Most laptops have this feature under the RAM slot... just to make note ;-)
