skawarrior Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) I'm looking for a screwdriver to open the RMone workstations it looks hexagonal in shape with a hole in the center to allow it to fit over a protruding pin on the screw. Our machines could do with a RAM upgrade and are out of warranty so we're happy enough to undertake this task ourselves if we can get the tool for the job Ignore me I was being foolish and spelling as RMone, once I searched for RM one I found it Edited December 19, 2008 by skawarrior

pagelad Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 You can get a security screwdriver set from maplins for about £15 Has just about every weird and wonderfull screw configuration you could ever imagine with it. Definately worth a buy, i use mine to take down projectors with weird security bolts but should open your RMone
skawarrior Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 Security Bit Set 33Pc - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys Thats better than the set I found, cheers for that
dhicks Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I'm looking for a screwdriver to open the RMone workstations it looks hexagonal in shape with a hole in the center to allow it to fit over a protruding pin on the screw. The screws are actually quite soft, and can be undone by simply jamming a standard flat-head screwdriver into their head and turning it. You can replace the resultant chewed-up screw with a standard PC case or harddrive screw. -- David Hicks
ndavies Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I bought some from RM's online shop for about a quid each...it was over a year ago though
Disaster Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 we get them from RM, they normally dont charge for them, or if they do it;s still about a quid.
gshaikh Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Ask RM, they will send you one out for free because i got one of them
rad Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Sorry to revive, this thread We have the RM Ones, got given 4 allen key things I think with the PC's but they went missing, ordered some and they charged us £2 each. Problem we find is if you have to open it up to change a DVD drive, to an RW, the screws are so tight its impossible. Will be ordering a set of these now cos they look better.
