kmount Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Today, we had 7 DIMM modules turn up for 7 printers in 7 envelopes inside 7 boxes inside 7 jiffy bags with 7 delivery labels and 7 seperate consignment numbers! All because they wanted to make their stats look good!

The screws were dropping out of some laptops due to the lovely little blue tacky stuff having gone off so we had to replace some screws ... 3 different types of screw, up to 15 screws per machine. 89 machines ... Most screws came in individual plastic zip bags, and about half were in job lots of 7 zip bags to a jiffy bag and half a jiffy bag all to themselves ... this was then put into a rather large box (larger than any other box we have had from Dell ... and some have been large) ... and then we were told that this was about half of the screws and when would we like the rest. Still ... it gave the placement student something to do when we told here to sort them out.

Dell came and replaced them under warranty the next day. Took him a while to get through them i bet it takes you longer.

matt40k Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Best thing ever about HP. Ordered a load of servers, fair enough, each HDD etc was boxes, we had to fit. Not a problem. Ordered some desktops, we didn't want the optical drives, oh no, HP can't offer use a desktop with no optical drives for a good price. Ok. They can sell us the computers, then order the plates separately. So, far a few months of trying to find the correct part no (why hp can't tell me what it is, is beyond me). We got sent out 30 drive plates. Each in a box, which is the same size as you get hdd in. Each sent UPS Air Express (whatever it's called) from the Netherlands. Thank god they didn't try to charge us. No wonder why they have started charging for the plates. The desktops are HP DC2200. *Drive plates being that bit of plastic that covers the FDD and CD holes. These also had a bit of cheap metal as well... cheap being the key word.
