cheesypete Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Does anyone know / have any idea, as to when RM are going to pull the plug on CC3 and in effect force them move to CC4? Its probably a strange question for most, but i'm sat here looking at an order for some CC3 licences, thinking "potentially that money would buy me a nice new server"! Obviously with CC4 now available, its a quagmire of decision making. I could buy these licences only to find that support for CC3 expires next year, in which case do we look at upgrading to CC4 now...
sparkeh Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I asked this question at the last RM seminar. I was told that there wasn't a set date but it would be several years before support official ended. After all it hasn't been that long since support for CC2 ended. Personally I wouldn't be worried. I am carrying on with CC3 for the foreseeable future and won't upgrade until CC4 is a lot more stable.
kmount Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Or you could buy Assurance licenses which work on CC4.
Theblacksheep Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Although released, CC4 is not finished and wont have all the features many were sold until next year. If you have any other schools that have CC4 then i'd advise seeing them before you part with any money.
Butuz Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 You can buy licences that are CC4 and CC3 compatible.
kmount Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 You can buy licences that are CC4 and CC3 compatible. Did I not just say that?
Sylv3r Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 As has been said above buy the assurance licences - I am surprised they are still selling CC3 licences. Microsoft do something similar and allow you to install Office 2003 etc when purchasing office 2007 licences.
