ZeroHour Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Picked a copy of Call of Duty: World At War and had a play last night. Pretty awesome fun in co-op action. Me and my mate played for ages without to many issues. Anyone else got a copy?

Pete10141748 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I pretty much hated it, felt like a slower, rougher, more beta-esque version of COD4 if you ask me. Tryarch didn't have the best COD reputation going into this (COD3, anybody?) and yet again prove to be a less able developer than Infinity Ward. Roll on COD6, IW know how to get it right, COD2 was a better WW game than WaW I reckon.
ZeroHour Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 I do like it but yeh its not as good as COD 4. I just wish they had co-op and a longer single player in cod 4.
contink Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Yes I have it but the problems with multiplayer co-op are an absolute killer. I haven't managed to host a single game successfully yet... Quite amusing reading the COD forum threads on it though... You'd expect that level of passion if someone had decided to kill every single firstborn...
mcloum Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I got it and absolutly love it, prefer it over COD4.....but then again i dont see whats so wrong with COD3. To me COD3 and 5 have more action packed levels than COD4 did.. colourgolden on xfire
EduTech Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Its pretty awsome.. but does not beat COD 4 ..
TronXP Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I have it, its different to COD4 but after a while you get used to it. I think online the guns are lot better balanced then COD4.
SteveB Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Cod 4 beater it is not, but the tanks man! Scary stuff. Also the damage to the models is a right laugh. Lost the whole side of my body the other nite to a Bouncing Betty. check out www.britishroguewarriors.com for mature gaming. We have CoD4 and CoD5 servers up and running and the are punk buster streamed too. Fair standard of play as well, so come test yourself
ranj Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 its pretty impressive, not much change since cod4 but still a decent game.
techyphil Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I love it, i've been playing it since it first came out. Ranked up to lvl 32 then I decided it's time to reinstall Windows. I virtualised my old installation, reinstalled windows. reinstalled the game, it found my account ( must use the CDKEY ) only im at rank 0! I figured it'll be stored online. Anyway - I mapped my virtual HDD of my old OS, found that most of my game settings was stored in My Documents for max payne etc. BUT NOTHING FOR COD!!! Anyway, word of warning - theres a tool available that backs up your rank. Use that before reinstalling the game. I've lost all interest in it now. Lost the will to live
featured_spectre Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 (edited) one thing i detest about it is the fast rank servers. IF we had to rank up properly in COD4, then we should in COD5. http://www.lutoniansuk.co.uk < my friends clan, I am a member and we play every night on COD4, or COD5. We also have 10 servers (various custom map servers, match servers, game servers). Take a look *EDIT* added xfire cajtaylor on xfire also. Edited January 5, 2009 by featured_spectre
Hightower Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 On a different note, what are the hardware requirements for both COD4 & COD5?
Guest Guest Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 On a different note, what are the hardware requirements for both COD4 & COD5? Cant comment on 4 but I have a E6750, 2gb ram, 8800gt, on XP, and COD 5 runs in 1920x1200 at full gfx settings without any problem. Was really suprised tbh as my PC isnt exactly gaming spec.
apoth0r Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Left 4 Dead recently played at a lan i was at and that game is absolutely brilliant, in gaming and "mess ya pants" style jump factor. £20 on Steam at the mo, give it a go!
jubbi Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I've been playing this alot on PS3, but i've had to go back to cod4. Too many people are exploiting glitches in order to get under the maps. Until it's fixed I'm not going on. An online game should be about having fair fun, not abusing the system.

I've stopped playing it because it just isn't fun anymore! Going to have a look if it has been updated next month.

Agreed - played COD5 myself...good, but not as good as COD4. They've announced COD6 will be Modern Warfare 2 I believe too and I thought COD4 was excellent (although short) so looking forward to that!
