Can anyone suggest a secure way of attaching laptops to either desks or something along those lines.

They'll probably have a locking slot for using a Kensington locking device. You then just have to find a way of securely attaching the Kensington cable to the desk.

Why not just use desktop machines?

because these are lft and run our IWB but some teachers don't want to take them home every day and our school is rather exposed.

What about a lockable cupboard to put them in? Do the teachers not have their own cupboard? Or a lockable steel box?

I think leaving them in full view, locked to desk or not, is probably asking for trouble!

My point exactly! I have suggested that they should all take them home and that would sort out the problem altogether but they cannot be bothered to do that!

Are they going to be bothered faffing about with some anti-theft device then? I suspect they aren't.

Tell your management about the problem. Wait until a few get nicked. Then say "Told you so" to same management. Once this has happened a few time. Management generally trusts your judgement in such matters. An order from on high gets the problem sorted in a few nanoseconds.

Purchased some locks here at the start of the year nobody uses them. Got a couple locked down in mobile classrooms.

With the current climat here I am oh so tempted! Once again it's our new ICT co-ordinator with all these hair brain schemes he has but as normal he does not have clue!
