Hi all

I am Not kidding this Ruckus Wireless Works!

Yesterday about 9.30am I had two classes wanting to Use mini laptops, that's 60 mini laptops (ASUS EEE PC 1000H wireless N) they ALL connected to A SINGLE AP (7942) thought about 2 or 3 layers of brick work No problems what's so ever, No connection loss what so ever its Just work Simple peace of mind! Thanks Ruckus, Net-Ctrl & Mark Power

So yes! A Single 7942 can handle 60 network connections. browse the internet & access there folders etc

What I don't mean is login to the user profile all 60 at once in the split second to the active directory, simply because the server cant handle that many requests at once. windows XP will complain and throw out errors

We'll be putting Ruckus to the test soon - with laptops, roaming profiles and the most annoying buildings and interference as you can get :D

Will post after the results :)

We had NexGen Solutions in the other day giving me a quick demo and run down of Ruxus. Should be getting some demo kit in the next few days to try out.

If this solves my problems, and from what I've been hearing it will then I'm going to be one happy bunny.

We've had a Ruckus system in for two months now and am really happy with the performance. We haven't had any more than 20 machines on at once, but it is great that I can walk around with my laptop and the system just jumps me from one AP to the next.

Would highly recommend to anyone!

We had some Ruckus kit on evaluation and the relatively small improvement in performance didn't come close to justifying the costs involved. Maybe we don't have a particularly challenging environment from a wireless point of view, or maybe the current wireless is set up fairly well (through good luck or otherwise :)). Hard to say but we're sticking with our current implementation.

Whats this ruckus all about? anybody got any good sites about it.

Our council is planning to put a trapeeze network in just before xmas, would they be better advised to put a ruckus one..

sorry for my lack of knowledge.... should really research new technology more often...

Hi coquet636,

Ruckus Techie from Net-Ctrl here.

Ruckus is Wireless solution that blows all others out of the water.

It uses BeamFlex technology and is the first-of-its-kind smart antenna system that delivers extended Wi-Fi range and coverage, stable connectivity and higher performance.

Unlike omnidirectional antennas that radiate signals in all directions, BeamFlex directs transmit energy towards the best path to the receiving device. And unlike fixed- positioned directional antennas, BeamFlex dynamically configures and re-configures its “beam” to achieve omnidirectional coverage with directional performance within a given environment.

The set up and deployment of Ruckus is also extremely painless, you can have this system up and running within 10minutes.

Hi coquet636,

Ruckus is Wireless solution that blows all others out of the water.

Anyone know How the ruckus solution compares to the extricom solution?

New build just round the corner and its something we will have a fairly large investment in.

Hi Gaz350,

In my professional opinion I recommend taking an evaluation of the Ruckus wireless and see it in action for your self.

Mark Power is the guy in charge of Ruckus and evals, he is currently out of office today but if you are interested i can PM you his mobile number?

Thanks

Stuart
