Well if you can believe the "facts" of that article it looks like the neighbours and coppers need a clip round the ear for jumping the gun with absolutely no evidence of a crime. Based on what is said in the article i too would be persuing wrongful arrest. Its not right trying to bully a kid into convicting himself juse because the cops are incompitent*

 

I can only wish that next time i phone the cops for a real crime, such as burglery or violence, they are that quick to come.

This to me reads like the usual for this country atm; "admit guilt to this speeding ticket/etc now as tbh we dont really have any hard evidence, or we will bend you over twice as hard later for making it awkward for us", something i find morally discusting to do to an adult, never mind to a kid.

Jesus, I'd of simply encrypted the network and booted him of the connection. I'd of also asked my 'friend' if he'd had it encrypted previously and if he had reset it, then I'd of ignoring them as they went 'errrrr'.

 

Typical coppers though.

I heard somewhere that it is an offence to leave your car unattended on your own drive with the engine running because it invites crime. They should do the same for people with unsecure wireless networks.
