I said I wasn't going to make a song and dance about this but after been given 3 seperate infractions for no good reason I go and read this thread whilst a kid is in the room.

http://www.edugeek.net/forums/jokes-interweb-things/24707-credit-crunch.html

The very same moderator who happily gave me 3 infractions posted this highly innapropriate material on the screen.

I'm starting to think this forum has one rule for one lot and a completely different set for another and am highly p***ed off!

I just can't believe that I got 3 infractions (and I didn't use foul language in my posts) and certain members can post whatever they feel like with no consequences.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has been in a similar situation as well.

No Good Reason??? You threatened to 'put someone in the ground'

That's OK is it?

I think I have had enough of this - don't you ever read back what you post?

IMO you are often over the top, arrogant and opinionated

That of course it just my opinion - which of course you disagree with - and you NEVER change your opinion, do you?

And what are you complaining about in the Credit Crunch thread? If you have a problem REPORT THE POST - the system works, if you use it

One infraction was for using the word 'muppet'. Another was for the decking comment which I quickly removed (after like 2 mins) as I quickly realised how inapproriate it was, and the 3rd was for no good reason whatsoever.

I don't care where the post is made, it was inappropriate and at the very least should have held a warning to say it was inappropriate. I've seen plenty of members use foul language and be punished for it so why should this one be allowed to stand.

I'm not posting to object my infractions - I'm posting to say the law of the land is not consistant.

@ Witch - I'm actually saying that my infractions were deserved. I understand that I was very abrupt, and my behaviour was uncalled for. There was no excuse for it and I wish I could turn back the clock and change what I posted.

I believe you're missing the point of the thread - the reason I'm disappointed is some people can get away with plastering "Oh F*CK" on the screen in big letters.

No, It's NOT OK to put rude words up

But the mods/admin can't be everywhere

SO: Report the post as soon as you see it and I think you will see that we are consistent.

But not miracle workers - a little bit of maturity is what is needed here

How is this accepting it?

Yes, I know, I'm going on - but you can't change your approach later and say that you weren't complaining about the infractions when you clearly were!

The nature of the post was not to complain about my infractions but to highlight an inappropraite post. It's Ok saying the moderators can't be everywhere which is fair enough. The thing is, the post was actually made by a moderator.

sparkeh: this may well be the case - I will bring it up

Mind you, how is it decided who will be a mod? I feel another accusation of cliquery (?) coming on....

better be careful who is chosen...they might ADD bad words

And yes, Hightower, I know it was a mod - I'm sure he is very embarassed, too! It's been sorted out now.

Heh good point. But I think you can get a general idea of who would be a good choice from their posting style, helpfulness and attitude.

Also seeing if they mod other sites as well is a good idea.
