We've just had 3 smartboards installed and today i was setting them up, installed the software, aliagned etc and went to draw a straight line. Only problem it was no where near straight.

I have so far tried, different pc's, different cables, different versions of the software and on all 3 boards but all are the same.

Any ideas why when you draw a line you get wiggles..

I have to agree with hightower. On a Promethean board the problem is called "spiking" by the manufacturer. We had this happen to one of our boards last year. luckily it was still under warranty as the fix was for an engineer to come and replace the control circuit board as the firmware update didn’t work!

We had this problem when a member of staff leaned on the smart board. The membrane underneath the board was damaged. You need to get it replaced under warranty. Once the membrane goes it cannot be repaired :(

Draw a vertical line with your finger and a horizontal one post those up as well if you could. Also try putting the USB connection through a powered USB hub this will hopefully fix it as well. I've had this problem with "dirty" power supplies with Laptops.

Had an issue like this with a "Smart" board recently.. Was the driver version, used the one supplied on the disk, it worked fine.

With the Promethean ones, this normally means the controller is faulty and needs replaced.
