Good Morning

Our CEO is looking at wanting a staff absence dashboard showing her things like absence by school, the main reasons etc. We use Edupay so would have to be done on excel sheet and then PowerBi.

She's asked if anyone currently has something similar either in Bromcom/Arbor/PowerBi that they would be willing to share anonymized screenshots to give us an idea of what other Trust's do

Many thanks

Arbor pretty much does this all for us already:

But we're currently just a single academy rather than part of a Trust, so unsure if it will be as much use at that level.

This is available by default in Bromcom, with the right permissions this can be a widget on the home screen and then by extension with the bromcom trust management (vision?)

Sadly, we don't record this in our MIS, only Edupay :(

There was some talk of them doing some Power BI stuff.  Not sure if they stopped developing that, IIRC they wanted us pay to trial it, so we didn't.

(Unless you CEO is poorly paid it is published on the Trust website 😀)

Hi Karl,

If your schools use Bromcom MIS and Vision, the Vision Analytics Pack for Power BI includes a trust-level Staff and Staff Absence dashboard.

It provides:

  • headline absence figures across the trust;
  • breakdowns by absence category and reason;
  • analysis by staff type and school;
  • comparisons across all schools, selected schools or an individual school.

The important caveat is that the standard dashboard uses staff absence data recorded in the schools’ Bromcom MIS databases. If EduPay is your sole source of absence data and that information is not also recorded or synchronised into Bromcom, the standard pack would not pick it up. You would need to bring the EduPay data into a bespoke Power BI model, whether through an export or another available connection.

The Bromcom dashboard may still provide a useful reference for the measures and presentation you want. There is more information here:

https://docs.bromcom.com/product-portfolio/mat-vision-analytics-pack-for-power-bi/

If you want to drop me a message, I’ll see whether we can share some anonymised screenshots or arrange for the dashboard to be demonstrated.
