Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts. The HBO Original Series Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone premieres this Christmas on HBO Max.

Looks more or less exactly the same as the original. What was the point!

To earn more money for Rowling so she can further her cause to make transgender people's lives a misery. Watch this and support persecution of a minority who pose no threat to anyone.

I think HBO are also hoping they'll make a lot of money from the show, too.

Whatever people think about her views, JKR probably did more to get children reading during Peak Potter than any government initiative.

What utter nonsense.

:mod::mod::mod::mod: mod hat time

This has the potential to become a very heated and passionate debate. JKR isn't very nice to certain members of our society and this can be seen at that but also we need to remember to try and keep a level head here.

We are a nice community and should be working with one and other, let's not have an argument over this

TBH, I shan't be watching the show. When you have a canon of very good movies it's just like reinventing a much bigger wheel to cover the same distance.
I may just watch a HP film tonight, it's been a while.

*Weirdly I don't much like the last two, because I know it's coming to an end then. But not with the LOtR movies where the last is very much my fave.

And as @BKGarry said, please behave. As the saying goes, "Hate the artist, not the art", so please refrain from any personal dislikes and stick to criticising the art.

I think that, for Potterheads, the appeal may be to see bits that were (generally understandably) cut from the movies like Hermione forming SPEW.
