"access denied, cannot connect" yet it works :S

Recently put in a whole host of new printers (Canon LBP5970s) the setup has gone well, the printers installed on the servers without an issue but when mapping the printers which we do via a script the printer gives the message "access denied, cannot connect" ..........

Yet you can still print, to me this suggests it could cause a problem intermitently which i dont want, has anyone had this issue before?

We have to run our print scripts on each machine as an adminstrator the first time the printer is added in order to ensure drivers go on correctly, which we have done

Any suggestions on what i can check? in one room its showing access denied on almost all machines, in another its just 1 or 2 (they each use a printer hosted from a different server, but the same printer and driver)

It does sound like the driver creating that error message. Are you using the latest ones? Canon seem to update their drivers fairly regularly!

Using the latest PCL6 driver from there site, aso used the same driver from the room thats mostly working as with the one thats not
