Privacy screens / privacy screen protectors

Does anyone have any suggestions for privacy screens? Either monitors that have this built-in, or something that goes in front of an existing display screen, which will have the effect of only allowing someone who is directly facing the screen to be able to easily read what is displayed.

 

The request I had was for two "monitor privacy screen protectors", however when I search for this, I find a bewildering array of options, many of which aren't rated particularly highly.

Generally we stick with seperate ones as most the time people realise they hate them and then want them removed again

 

In terms of brands 3M are expensive but work well

 

Generally you need to make sure it’s the right size for the monitor and aspect as they either sit inside the monitor or stick to the frame

What Steve said. Everyone thinks they want a privacy screen for their monitor as it sounds painless, then they get annoyed as they have to rearrange their desk and workflow to ensure they're always looking at the screen at the proper angle for it. Or it's "too dark".

We're trying these now https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B097PZSQ7T?th=1 as the price of the 3M ones is almost the price of a new monitor and never fit right on our IIyama 24" monitors.

We have the opposite problem, that they want them, but their desk/screen is pushed up against the wall so pretty much anyone in the room or looking through the window can still see their screen fine.

They work well in Banks where the customer can only see the screen from an angle and the teller is sitting one screen, in a normal office with people walking around they are less useful as their will often be people standing behind the monitor looking over the users shoulder and with two big screens it is hard to get the viewing angle right.

^ I'll second the 3M ones, and the assertion that people will want them removed before long, especially if they're running dual monitors.

 

We nearly always end up rearranging offices so monitors can't be viewed from the doorway / windows (window film) or restricting access to the office as the long-term solution.
