Can anyone recommend Mosyle free tier for managing iPads?

Currently using Lightspeed, but I'm encountering problems with the issues controlling the Disable MAC Address Randomisation option. The setting keeps being renabling itself decive side following a sync.

I realise this is a bit of a niche issue, but the Lightspeed support has been frankly dreadful.

I trialled Jamf and Mosyle, albeit for iMac management and the paid version. I started with Jamf, and after a lot of back and forth they were unable to figure our why our iMacs wouldn't domain join with a profile. Mosyle support were a lot better and I got it resolved, and they've been great since (used for aroud 5 years), so they get a thumbs up from me. In case you've not seen the other posts, Apple are providing a free MDM at some point in the next few months. Not sure how that compares with Jamf, Mosyle, and the other offerings, although it's not like Mosyle is crazy expensive.

Started with Lightspeed (paid) and ditched it in favour of the free version of Mosyle, which I much prefer. Have a sole pad on Jamf at another site and it seems OK but doesn't really see enough use to fairly comment.

The main thing that I'd like to move to paid Mosyle for is that some of the "do it to all the pads I've selected" things aren't free. That said, most of the basic features like enrolment, app deployment and profile deployment can be done en masse. Just set 60 up with the only problems documented here:

Thanks, appreciate both your comments. I'll reach out to Mosyles to find out if the MAC restriction settings is available in the free plan.

Mosyle is pretty decent. We've used it for a few years now. Started out with the free version for about 30 iPads. We have nearly 100 now & we are now on the K-12 version, as we needed some of the premium features to make our lives easier.

You can absolutely get by with the free version. There is a limit on the amount of devices you can add however.

Do you know what the device limit is?

I stand corrected, there doesn't seem to be a limit on devices now - i'm sure there was a few years back!

The most limiting factor of the free version, for me, is probably the lack of bulk operations. For example, you have to manually push out an update to each device instead of being able to select all of them at once. I just do them in chunks throughout the day.

We moved from Lightspeed to Mosyle, and it saves us a significant amount every year. I wouldn’t recommend the free tier if you have hundreds of iPads, since bulk operations become essential. But for a small number of devices, it works well.
