Email is forwarding most emails, except ones from the police

We have a special emergency email forwarding account, that the police asked us to create.

 

I created the forwarding rule in Google Workspace, the same as all our other forwarding accounts.

 

I can send an email from my personal account and it gets forwarded, All emails sent from our local authority get forwarded, but we have just noticed any emails the Police are sending do not get forwarded.

 

I can see in the logs they arrive at our emergency account, but they don't get forwarded.

 

Can anyone think of a logical reason for this?

i have in my head some email services allow stuff to be sent in a 'secure' mode which means "pretty please do not allow forwarding, saving etc"

Not something I have come across, but definitely something the Police would use if they could. I guess it must be something like this.

They will just have to check this emergency account directly, not the end of the World.

If they are using Office 365, (Likely are), they can opt to disable forwarding on the email. This is probably what is happening.

I would say this, I have experience of using Police 365 accounts and they have all sorts of DPA policies. You can bypass as a user by removing some of the security tags from the email, however if they then send information that is against their policy they could land themselves with an ear bashing from someone in professional standards. 

 

Maybe ask them to send a test email and remove the sensitive marked, in the force I use it in the tag is called "not sensitively marked" and another "external use only"
