We currently use Bromcom for our MIS, ParentPay for online payments, and Civica, for the backend cashless system.

Has anyone else made the move to remove ParentPay, and go Bromcom direct to Civica (or another backend).

I was hoping someone who has done the process can tell me what happens with positive balances, and what happens with negative balances?

I know I should just ask, but with so many services involved, I'm not sure who to ask!

Thank you.

I can't help you but we are looking at doing the same process at the moment although moving from Tucasi payments and using AMI cashless. So I will keep an eye on the thread.

I assume once you have a 3rd party user with write back enabled in Bromcom the balances would transfer over exactly as they are. Bromcom would just be displaying what is on the cashless system.

We're planning the move from ParentPay to Bromcom for online payments, with Live Register as the catering platform (in the schools with cashless systems).

We've trialed it with one of our primaries (no cashless catering) and balance transfers was a manual affair carried out by finance.  That was relatively easy - there's a much smaller number of pupils, meal payments tend to be paid in advance and there's not many ad-hoc transactions.

The secondaries will be more a bit more involved.  I don't forsee any problems from the Live Register end (couple of hours work per school), but getting the balance transfers right will be interesting.

Hi mitchell1981,

I've linked a document that may be useful understanding how balances move between Bromcom and Civica for your catering.

https://docs.bromcom.com/cashless-catering-integration-2/

If you would like me to put you in touch with someone at Bromcom who can discuss this with you in more detail, please send me a message and I'd be more than happy to do that!

Thanks

If you also use Bromcom Finance this is also integrated with MCAS and makes processing your income very simple.

So, follow-up for anyone wondering.

Finance had to do some legwork, but overall the secondary school migrations were straightforward.

Like, suspiciously "it would be nice if something went a bit wrong because that's more reassuring" well, with only a handful of parent queries across two schools.

This is great news and well done to the finance team!
