We are looking for a way to track usage of an IT Suite to make a case that is needs to be made bookable as it currently has some of the better machines in the school but is only timetabled for 1 lesson a week and not available for booking when it isn't tabled to a class.

So really just looking for a way to track logins and show that IT Suite X is being used XX% of the time whilst IT Suite Y is only being X% of the time to make the case to SLT as we are currently relying on a laptop trolley full of some incredibly old devices for the subjects that realistically would need access to an IT Suite.

Hope this makes sense!

Our service desk client actually tracks this for us.

I occasionally think Config Manager ought to be able to do this too. A quick check in CoPilot, and it agrees, but I don't have time to check whether it was hallucinating.  Here is the prompt I used:

"We have IT Suites of computers, each suit is in its own collection. Different sets of users log on and off each hour (lesson period). However not every suite is used every lesson period. We need to report on IT Suite utilisation. How can configuration manager be used to create a report that tracks usage of computers in a collection."

I go old school and have logon and log off scripts that save to a csv. Not 100% accurate but pretty good.

That was an idea at the 2nd school I worked. But not for that reason, although I suspect it was damage issue which was rarely if never acted upon.
