MS Teams on Win11

Hello,

 

How do other organisations deploy the MS Teams app onto their devices please?

 

On Windows 10 I've used the Teamsbootstrapper.exe installation method which worked fine.

But on Windows 11, this seems to only install Teams for the current user and when that user logs off and another user logs on, they do not have any MS Teams available.

 

When I've checked for AppX package, nothing is found and when I check for AppX Provisioning Package, that's gone too.

 

Is there a trick I am missing please?

We use a login script that uses the bootstrapper, and installs it for each user.

We just do the usual bootstrapper option (with -p  at the end) and it works for all users

Not sure if we can use login scripts tbh with our new setup but will have a look.

 

I've tried to use the bootstrapped with option -p running as system as an intune app deployment but it only seems to install the teams client for the current logged in user.

When that user logs off and another user logs in, no teams client is found.

 

When I check for the provisioned APPX package, that comes back with nothing too.

To do what please?

Do you mean to run the bootstrapper.exe as the user?

Yup this. Whatever script you want to run, assuming from a batch file, run it as a scheduled task when or soon after the user has logged in, can either run it as system or as the logged in user.

I thought Microsoft brought out the teams bootstrapper as a replacement for the machine wide installer?

 

We tried the machine wide installer a while back but found that this gets outdated fairly fast and then this needs constant monitoring too.
