A friend was on Manjaro for a bit but stopped. It kind of worked but only in that they had so much stomach upset and pain that they couldn't possibly eat anything.

The thing with these injections is that they are great to get you into the habit of smaller portions or less snacking, but if you don't change anything then the weight will just come straight back when you aren't taking it.

Similar experience here. A friend was with Juniper and lost nothing with the first type of jab, and then they were switched to Mounjaro. Then it's a question of how bad the side effects are. And like any diet, once you stop, all the weight is likely to come back on.

Found this thread a bit late, but thought I'd chip in for anyone else reading down the line. Getting off the medication is the real challenge for most people because the hunger just snaps back. I found that keeping a strict routine for my first meal of the day helped stop the weight from creeping back.

I switched to using Shake That Weight for my breakfasts since they're a UK company and it costs way less than the injections did.

It keeps the morning calories low without any effort. Just make sure you stay on top of your water intake to avoid the headaches.

I'm not gonna lie, I've toyed with the idea of the GLP-1's.. I've managed to lose a little over 10kg under my own steam but then completely plateaud from there, hovering  pretty consistently between 83 and 85kg. But I've never actually gone beyond doing some rudimentary investigation.

I wuss out whenever I have to use lancets for fingerprick tests, I don't reckon I'm gonna fare much better injecting myself 😅

Knew someone that was on them. Lost a bunch of weight, had to be rushed to hospital to get their gallbladder out, stopped the jabs, put the weight back on..

Now they're skint, no gallbladder, medication for life and back to square 1

Friend is on Manjaro he lost well over 1 stone in a year with a good diet (he was not very over weight), he has long standing nerve damage many years before so exercise is difficult as is even normal physical activity at times leaving him in pain and on pain meds.

Always seek medical advice yes there may be some issues as with a lot of meds/surgeries and unfortunately for a few these can be dramatic side effects or life changing outcomes. I had minor heart surgery in 2018 there were risks with the surgery but I went on to complete a marathon and many more long runs after building a exercise regime post surgery and consultant advice

If you can lose the weight without them that should still be the preferred option.
