Edit: realised the end date may just be us, anyone else having their free plan ended?

Wondering what people are moving to or purchasing, cheapest seems to be £12 p/m and then a 16% discount

Thank you for being a valued customer. We want to let you know that your Freshdesk Free Plan for xxxxx will be discontinued on June 09, 2025. If no action is taken by that date, your account will be deactivated. The free plan was designed to help you explore the unique capabilities we have to offer, and we hope it delivered real value. Same message and date for us. Looking at something like FreeScout as a potential replacement. Or just create something simple in M365. For a small IT Team in the current financial climate the money could be better used elsewhere (even though it's not a huge sum!)

was hoping for something around £3 per agent a month , open source and self hosted might work but was hoping to move away from that .  if there was something that did asset tracking and helpdesk might be worth £12

Haven't had that email yet, but that's a shame, particularly as I have a fair few articles on the Wiki page that will need to be moved...

I'll probably go back to the free Spiceworks helpdesk.

Honestly, Microsoft lists is just perfect as an IT support system. You can extend any workflow with Power Automate as well. Its free forever and SSO integrated.

I used freshdesk while benchmarking other software and it was horribly bloated.

Thanks. Do you have any guides on setting this up?

Also, has anyone tried the SharePoint IT helpdesk template?

Microsoft Lists has both asset and job ticket templates which I used when I set it up.

Power Automate flows is really simple once you find the wizard. In our case we just wanted an email template to be sent each time the job ticket was updated.

I just wanted to say thanks very much for this - it was really helpful. I've got this setup and a couple of Power Automate flows running. Cheers.

This looks cool me and my tech are trying it out.  No power automate yet gotta work out how that works but just the basic version looks like it will do the job when you've added your custom colums needed etc.  Cheers!!!

OSTicket self hosted is currently doing it for me...

Microsoft Lists may be the way forward as we are looking to host less and less on site.

Not seeing any notifications or banners in our account about the Free Plan coming to an end. Are there any public announcements from them about this?

Same here.

We did get the notification about needing to drop to two agents earlier this year, and we did that, maybe others didn't?

No notification here either, other than the 2 agents one we had late 2024 to early 2025.

Free option is still listed as well to sign up to on there website. So you'd think that would go first.

Got a quote for that and it was atranomical.

We pay for it here. The fee we pay is easily recovered from the automation features. Currently 30% of our service requests are fully automated.

£60pm per agent - the consultant setup is quite steep but so far its been worth it for the guidance.

Weve basically jumped because of all the integration options we have with other tools

as fn-gm said the automation oppurtunities are really nice.

In our trial period we managed to setup user provisioning in google from the servicedesk through an approval workflow for new staff, and access assignments via another approval workflow not sure if were gonna do that going forward but was a fun lets see what we can do with an afternoon hacking something together
