Hi Guys,

Having a few problems getting Gamemaker and Flowol working properly on my 32bit terminal server, for my thin client. I initially tried installing them on my 64bit servers, but they wouldn't install at all. Managed to get them to install on Windows 2003, 32bit server but Gamemaker won't launch and errors with "Drive C: must be a hard drive for Softwrap to correctly register". Flowol says "unable to load configuration", then error from Flowol "cannot open bitmap" although Flowol which actually run after the errors.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get these working, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jenny

Hi

I Don't have it working on a terminal server here but according to their website it should be possible.

Can Flowol run on a Windows Server through Terminal Services?

We have successfully tested Flowol 3 on a Windows Server 2003 machine with multiple remote clients running Flowol 3 simultaneously via Terminal Services on a single server. The that the quality of the graphics of the new 3D mimics will depend upon the CPU load of the server.

Note that since more than one user can use Flowol in this configuration, a site licence of Flowol 3 would be required.

We run flowol2 in windows 2003 terminal services (citrix).

It runs fine, and I don't recall the exact problems that you face.

One issue we did have is that flowol creates a file called FLOWOL2.INI in the students homedrive H:\windows\FLOWOL2.INI

The file contains some paths and the program gets fussy if they change.

it might happen that if students run the program (and creat the file) on an xp machine, it could differ on your TS

try and delete the file.

Apologies for digging up an old thread, but if you got here how I did looking into the Flowol 2 errors at startup, you can fix it by turning on Windows 95 compatibility mode, and giving read/write access to the program directory. This works on a normal XP desktop, haven't tried this over terminal services.

The earlier poster is correct, the Flowol 2 errors are shown when the Flowol2.ini file cannot be found.

If you are still encountering this problem, please do send us e-mail.
