Hi,

I know this has briefly been referred to in a previous chat, but has anyone had any experience with Easy4U when it comes to supplying laptops on a 1:1 scheme
Just wondering what the whole process is like, the portal, the laptop delivery, response to repairs and stock in school.

These seem to be only supplier of this type (offering rental) rather than the whole risk being put in the school.

Thanks in advance..

Not had any issues.  Not done a full blown 1:1 offering yet, currently we are using them to offer devices to parents, and the associated rental/payment scheme and insurance. Really responsive though.  The only issue is that their insurance (last I looked) has a £50 excess, whereas the other scheme we used was no strings attached.

@jnfarmer has used them for a full rollout I think.

Hi!

Yep, we did a full roll out at my old place. I left before I had a chance to support the roll out, so @PGridley may need to chime in at this point.

But the setup was super easy with them, they were really on it, but not overly push with it. They came to loads of open events to chat to parents about the scheme and what it meant. Portal is simple to use, laptops came delivered all asset tagged, enrolled into our MDM and assigned to the relevant pupil. It took a lot of stress out of it for us.

Happy to answer any other specifics.

You certainly did! Or what I like to think of as "the easy bit" 😉

For info of @bert113

I've found them to be really knowledgeable, very professional and the support is really good. The initial batch and those since were dropped off in batches and are all ready to go with easy setup and configuration as they have Azure access for this.

For the support you basically create a ticket, hand a loan device out and stick the device in a crate with the ticket. collected every week if you have stuff going one way or the other and all between parents and Easy4U for all the rest.

If you want to chat things through am more than happy to have phone call or messages on this. Chuck me a PM if you do and can arrange something.

Thank you all for your replies... , I will PM with any specifics..

The £50 excess is an interesting one

We've seen some cases not be charged if found to be manufacturer issue, all dealt with without us (mainly me) getting involved, so personally I love that bit!

We have been using them for 1:1 Surface Go/Pro devices for last couple of years and would recommend them. Customer service is good (repairs can sometimes take a little longer than they should but things always get resolved).

@bert113 I have literally this week joined Easy4U but have provided many 1:1 schemes during my long career in IT selling to Education. I would suggest having an initial discussion with us to enable us to cover off any concerns, queries / questions you may have, as many people have already eluded to within the chat a 1:1 device scheme needs lots of thought about the "why" before we get to the "how"

Happy to pick up with you if your are still researching or anyone else on the feed that may be considering or has a scheme already that they want to discuss.

I used to use Edutech as my main partner when schools enquired about 1:1 schemes and BYOD devices. They built bespoke portals for the schools within a couple of days. The reporting was amazing and queries answered the same day. Happy to provide honest feedback.
