Hi there, Over the past week or so we have had a number of users with issues using 365 apps on their home connections, it's not recognising that they have a licence or if they try to sign in they get error messages about connecting to their account (see image below). All of our users are A3 licenced, however it doesn't happen when they are connected to the school network and works fine. As soon as they connect to their home network or a hotspot the error happens again. Has anyone encountered anything like this before ?

Hi there, We have a weird situation with a number of Teams where a student is showing in the membership of the team but when you go into the onenote notebook of that team they haven't got a section allocated to them. Is there a setting I might be missing within Teams as this really doesn't make any sense, I thought the memberships would be the same ! Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi, I know this has briefly been referred to in a previous chat, but has anyone had any experience with Easy4U when it comes to supplying laptops on a 1:1 scheme Just wondering what the whole process is like, the portal, the laptop delivery, response to repairs and stock in school. These seem to be only supplier of this type (offering rental) rather than the whole risk being put in the school. Thanks in advance..

Hi all, I see this post has been viewed 400+ times... perhaps I could get some advice on the advert as to why we only generated 1 applicant, who on first read doesn't have any of the pre-requisites for the position. Any constructive pointers would be appreciated.. -

Thank you all for your suggestions.. Bizarrely after a few hours some of the PC's start working again.. it's almost like something is being switched on that is causing the problems, I can go for a couple of days and the problem doesn't happen. The default gateway for each machine is contactable and it's only a handful of PC's at a time on two vlans that have the problem, they are in different parts of the school and connect to different switches on the network, the only part that is the same is the vlan. If it was effecting every machine on the two vlans I could understand but only a few are experiencing the problem at a time , it could be one out of an office of 4. It makes no sense...

They are getting the correct IP addresses, and I can release and renew perfectly fine they just can't browse anywhere but their own network
-
They are different makes and it random around the school, it could be one machine out of 30 it's bizarre..

Hello.. could really do with some advice/help as I'm stuck to be honest... I have a number of PC's that obtain an IP address but then can't access any network drives or the internet, they can ping anything on their own vlan but nothing outside it. It happens randomly and with out any pattern but only on 2 of the 6 vlans. I can't see any errors on DNS or DHCP .. I'm at a loss what to look for next.. could this be a dodgy switch or piece of hardware? Thanks in advance for any help...

We are still having issues today, one user can get in to do the form.. but the attendance officer and myself just keep getting timeouts and blank pages. I've emailed the DFE signin helpdesk to see if they shine some light on it

I know this is a long shot.... But does anyone have the original CD and floppy disk for a program called Dynamic Omnigraph made by SPA Software circa 2003 Amazingly our Maths department still use this and unfortunately the files have become corrupt. I've gone to re-install it, but all we have is the box with the guide and paper licence no sign of the software (!) I can download demo versions off the internet which fail to solve the problem, and I've gone to the manufacturers website - it appears they now make Brewery Software (!) Any help would be appreciated.

I've been asked to work out a way of tracking when a certain document has been read or...... force users to read the document on a drive before they can continue with their logon. The document is a PDF and resides on one of our network drives which all staff have access to Firstly is this possible? Has anyone come across this before?? Any help or pointers would be appreciated... (apologies if this is the wrong forum) D

Second post of the day with moodle, sorry !! (chucked in at the deepend following the cancellation with our support who turned off our moodle after we stopped paying) I've got the moodle working now and I can get to it by going to http://ourwebaddress/moodle but if I change the wwwroot in the config.php file to http://ourwebaddress it takes me to the IIS Splash screen Is there a setting in IIS that I have to change to get it to point to the moodle folder without having to add the "/moodle" at the end of our web address . Hope this make sense D

Moodle MS drivers for SQL Server for PHP problem
bert113 replied to bert113's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Thanks Steve, that was the problem - checked the version of PHP and replaced the DLL with the correct one and this worked a treat - thanks again - D -
Can anyone offer me some advice with a Moodle windows build.. I successfully built a box using the WAMP installation this works fine except for when there is a load on it and it crashes and freezes a lot. So I decided to build a full blown Moodle Windows server with MSSQL all was going well until I got to the Moodle installation screen, I can't get past the Database settings. Even though I have tested PHP and installed SQL following all of the instructions I get the error "Microsoft Drivers for SQL Server for PHP are not installed or not configured properly". I have checked this as much as I can (and spent several hours on it) but I can't get past this page. I've downloaded the DLL specified and added it to the PHP config file ([php_SQLSRV] extension=php_sqlsrv_53_nts_vc9.dll ) but I still get the problem - has anyone got any ideas /advice? Thanks in advance D

Can anyone give me some advice.. We have cancelled our support with our Moodle supplier... they have sent us our database backup as a SQL file and the moodledata folder but I am struggling to work out how to import these onto a clean install of Moodle. I have downloaded the latest Windows version and got a 3.1 empty version working but I have attempted and failed to import data supplied. (I believe the backup etc are from version 2.7 on a Linux server) Can anyone point me in the right direction Thanks in advance.. D

Hello, We've just received our annual renewal from our suppliers who support our moodle vle, and at just under £3000 I started to wonder if we're getting value for money. I know that only a few of our faculties use the VLE in "anger" and the majority of users just use it as a thoroughfare to get to other apps / links. Students mostly use it to access their files. I was just wondering how many schools (we're a secondary) still use a VLE and if you have ditched it what do you use for an intranet etc... Thanks in advance D
