Need a bit of help, we've developed a problem with our e-mail flow... Our setup is that incoming external mail comes in via our old exchange 2003 server and forwards it to our exchange 2010 server, the outgoing mail goes straight out via the 2010 server. For some reason e-mails are now stuck an queueing on the 2003 server in the "Messages awaiting directory lookup" queue, there is no obvious reason, nothing shows up in the logs that explains why, I've stopped and restarted everything I can think of on the servers but nothing seems to solve the problem. I would appreciate any advice on how to further troubleshoot this - or fix it.. Thanks in advance D

Hi, Our Rapid SSL certificate expired during the xmas break, I've got a new certificate issued by the supplier, but all of their instructions point to renewing a live certificate. What I can't work out is how to install the certificate when it's expired - do I install a new one to replace the current certificate? Any help would much appreciated. D

Hi, I may be being a bit dim here but I'm really struggling with an issue We have an number of Vlan's here and Vlan 8 is our vlan for our wireless network xx.xx.38.x this range is almost out of addresses, I can't extend the to scope to xx.xx.39.x addresses as this is being used by another vlan, the only range I can use is xx.xx.37.x which I've added as a second scope in dhcp. My problem is I can't work out how to route this through our switches, I've tried to change the routing table to allow xx.xx.37.x address to route through to xx.xx.38.1 but it doesn't like this. If I route it through and interface on the master switch to xx.xx.37.1 that's fine but I need to get from here through to the server which is xx.xx.38.2 (with the previously mentioned dchp scope(s)) Any ideas??

Thank you for the setups folder. I could also do with the contents of the Options folder, along with file extensions ( so I can transfer the files back into the folder) I've got NovaT6 working can see all of the files when I open it but they won't load (I can't save either) - problem with an access violation with NT6.exe. I've asked our local LA support, just wondered if anyone has come across this. Thanks again.

Thankfully the docstorage folder is in a different location, at the moment I've thrown everything into the S:\Sims folder and I'm moving it when a problem occurs e.g NovaT6 licence file

Hi, I've come in this morning after a week off to discover that the contents of our "S" drive has been deleted. (containing connect.ini etc..) I've managed to recover the majority of our files but they've lost their folder structure. I've recovered the connect.ini etc... Could anyone possibly send me a screenshot of the folder\file structure within all of your sims folders, anything you can think of, even down to the menubat and snova folders - any help would be really appreciated. I'm waiting to hear back from our SIMS support to get an up to date version of the SIMS setups folders, but if anyone can dump a copy somewhere on dropbox or somewhere it would again be really appreciated (we are on v7.162) If you haven't guessed the SIMS S: drive backup failed (!) although the database is fine. Thanks in advance

Hi, We've just been quoted 3K for our yearly Moodle support contract and I wondered if that was an average price for this service. Also we've also been advisedd that another platform is good and a reasonable price :- "its learning" - does anyone have any experience of this within the secondary sector. Any comments, recommendations or advice welcome. Thanks in advance

Hi, bit of advice needed if possible... I visited a local primary school yesterday to speak to a colleague (non-technical role) and look at quotes they've had through for Apple products. They currently have airport extremes dotted around the site, 1 in each classroom (4) and 1 in an admin office - they have a maximum of 24 devices that could connect at any one time, they've been quoted for a managed system, which to me sounds way beyond what they need. Personally , and I'm no expert on airports, while they aren't specifically designed for commercial / school use, they are more than suitable for use in a v.small primary school (around 70 on-roll). Any thoughts on this?, this is a very small school. Also every device (bar one) in the school is apple based, is there a economical way of creating some storage / backup etc... as at the moment nothing appears to be backed up apart from the single windows based sims system. Any advice would appreciated. Thanks in advance..

Password Management for Pupils - Cloud Services
bert113 replied to mullet_man's topic in Educational Software
I recently had a demo of YouID and while it is a fantastic product, I couldn't justify spending the quoted amount on it. Even with the revised pricing (after several conversations) it was 39% more than RM unify for school of 1000 pupils (no I haven't signed up for Unify) Believe me I'm a big Impero fan, but the pricing on YouID , for me was a bit steep, especially with restricting budgets within schools. I'm sure others will disagree.. just my opinion -
Can anyone recommend a good cctv / fire alarm / Door Control system company, preferably in the Gloucestershire / Wiltshire area. Our annual maintenance contract is up for renewal soon and I'm looking to possible move on from our current supplier. Thanks in advance..

Hi, has anyone got a copy of "Seconds from disaster: when the volcano blew" needed for Geography lesson, I've believe it's a National Geo production. It used to be on Youtube, but now removed - if it's a copyright problem, please ignore request. Thanks D

Hi desperate for some advice / help.. I installed a set of new switches into our new build a few weeks ago and since all of the equipment has been installed (pc's, cctv cameras, copiers, telephones etc...) we have been experiencing random "blips" in our network - enough to take out all of the IP phones on the school site (despite being on different VLAN's), but not enough in the majority of cases to disconnect pc's, although this does happen sometimes I've checked the config on the new switches and it all looks correct (they are a variety of HP V1910 switches) If I look at the logs of one of the new switches there are almost constant topology changes on the uplink port, I'm guessing this is the cause of the "blips", I've looked for the obvious - cabled loopbacks etc but nothing is apparent. We can go for a whole day of no "blips" then we can have two in quick succession Any advice on what I can implement to try and track this would be most appreciated. D

Hi Apologies if this is a re-post, I couldn't spot anything on the forums I'm looking for some advice on storing Headphones in a classroom, currently we have them all stored in cardboard boxes - doesn't look great and tends to lead to a lot of damage / vandalism Hooks behind the PC's are not a solution as around 40% of the PC's face windows. Any ideas? (secondary school)

Hi... Anyone use the older version (not online) of Sleuth (made by the school software company) - we're moving to sims for incident and positive behaviour recording, our sleuth licence runs out in August and I need to extract the data from it, I can see you can get some data from the reports menu but no obvious route to extract all of the data. Any help would be appreciated

Hi, We've recently purchased mixcraft as a PC garageband alternative, it's fairly inexpensive and very easy to use Mixcraft 5 - Affordable multi-track audio and MIDI recording software. We purchased it from Dolphin Music

Hi, I've been asked by our finance department to investigate if I can get historical data from our old sage line100 system which we stopped using last April (the licence has now expired) - we transferred to FMS. Is this possible? or do we need to invest in a licence again to get the historical data - we can get into the sage system but no transactions are available, as soon as you try a function it comes up with "licence expired". Any help or suggestions, would be appreciated Thanks

I kept very calm....well most of the time ;-) -
Help - major hardware failure with Exchange server
bert113 replied to bert113's topic in Enterprise Software
This might sound a daft question... Does this mean I copy the folder across to the new server "Note: If you managed to take a copy of the Exchange databases and log files from the old server, now is the time to bring them back to their respective location(s) on the new server and have them mounted. Depending on the state of the stores, you may have to repair them before they can be mounted." Thanks again -
Help - major hardware failure with Exchange server

Hi. it's Exchange 2003 and it's the only server in the domain, I can get to the MDBDATA folder (the new server is 2008 r2) - Thanks for your reply -
Hi, Just returned to school today to find the mail server with a failed array (RAID 1), backups have failed, I've tried booting an individual disk straight from the motherboard slots ignoring the raid controller but windows (server 2003) just blue screens on me. My question is, can I retrieve any of the exchange data from the disks (I've put one of them into a drive carrier and I can read it so I can get to all the data) is there a way I can get the data from this drive onto another server (just by chance I have another new server ready to roll out) Any ideas / help??

Looks like a problem with you LDAP settings, I would first check that your domain entry, Username (in DOMAIN\Username format) and password are correct. could you post up the contents of your web.config file (obviously removing any passwords etc)? I posted here about someone who was having similar issues Home Access Plus+ Let me know if you need more help Mark Thank you, I think I've entered everything correctly.... Here is the web.config file (our FQDN is nsnet.net , we logon onto school and as a domain name. Domain controllers khs-alpha & khs-app) I've removed the II7 bit at the end as the post was too long
