mitchell1981 Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Hi All, I'm quite new to Bromcom reporting, and trying to re-create some of the things I had working in Sims reports. A simplified example; I would like a report that includes: Student Admission Number Tutor Name Tutor Staff Code Tutor Email Address I can get the Tutor Name, as it's in the Student Domain, but how do I get the rest, or is it not possible? Thank you.
Synkrox Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Try using the "Classes" domain to pull that data. It'll let you get at all the student and staff fields as well as the class info. 1
Marci Posted March 13, 2025 Posted March 13, 2025 Yarp... Classes, with extensive use of the Groups subdomain that you'll find there, which contains the Staff and Student associations... be prepared for a lot of tree diving. 2
Bromcom_John Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 happy to offer any additional assistance if it is still needed 1

mitchell1981 Posted March 14, 2025 Author Posted March 14, 2025 Thank you all! I'll have a play with the classes domain, and I'll let you know if I need any additonal help. Thanks for the offer John, and Allistair. 1
Bromcom_John Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 In addition to the above Mitchell, there was a "web wednesday" drop in session that covered this. You ought to be able to review it from the below link https://bromcom.teachable.com/courses/web-wednesday-webinars/lectures/49626317 1
Bromcom_John Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 (edited) You can also try to import the attached report definition into the MIS. Took me around 5 minutes to put together, prodigious use of the "find data item" icon within Quick reports.. cuts down on tree diving as Marci put it. I have called it tutor details by student but it ought to give you the output you have asked for. Just go into your AdHoc reports area, click actions - Import Report Definition Bit of advice with the Classes domain. It is entirely correct to retrieve this data from there but you will need to add in the Group Type Description or Group Type Code column in order to include a column filter to 'just' the "Tutor Group"Tutor details by Student_20250314124424.xml Edited March 14, 2025 by Bromcom_John 1
mitchell1981 Posted March 14, 2025 Author Posted March 14, 2025 Thanks John, this is almost perfect, but it's producing duplicates when there is an 'additional tutor', the name in the tutor column is the main tutor, but the email, and code are the 'additional tutor'. Is there a way to filter this out? Thanks again!
mitchell1981 Posted March 14, 2025 Author Posted March 14, 2025 Ignore that. I worked it out. Add Role Type as column, and filter it to Main Tutor. Thank you. 2
