Gongalong Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Hi folks, We are re-evaluating our retention schedule, and having looked at other schools there is a bit of variance. The DfE don't seem to provide a recommended schedule, our county legal team haven't been of help, and there doesn't seem to be any definitive free guidance elsewhere on the internet. Has anyone found free (and accurate!) guidance on retention? We are considering joining the IRMS to get access to their toolkit. It's not an extortionate cost, but I wanted to check ahead of doing that. (Surprising really that the DfE don't provide guidance) Thanks
Marci Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I take it you've already been through https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/record-keeping-and-retention-information-for-academies/record-keeping-and-retention-information-for-academies-and-academy-trusts ? 1
Gongalong Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 It definitely looks familiar, and that refers to the IRMS toolkit, so may be where I found the suggestion.
Scifigirl Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 https://www.kelsi.org.uk/school-management/data-and-reporting/access-to-information/records-management Kents one. 1
TechMonkey Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 IRMS Toolkit is what I was going to suggest. 1
enjay Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I've used IRMS toolkit before. I didn't know it now cost money, but it's only £45 per year, so would be money very well spent for the time saving. 1
