A renowned independent school in southern Hertfordshire seeks a technically adept and proactive Director of IT to lead their IT Services team and oversee a robust digital infrastructure. This role offers an annual salary of £65,000–£70,000 (Possible flexibility for the right candidate), private health cover, a pension scheme with contributions up to 10%, 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, free lunches during term time, and access to on-site leisure facilities, including a swimming pool and gym. This is a full-time, site-based leadership role ideal for a professional with in-depth knowledge in cloud-first IT management, cybersecurity, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: · IT Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a strategic IT plan that supports both operational and educational needs. · Infrastructure Management: Lead the management of a 550+ device network, which includes PCs, laptops, iMacs, and an Aruba Wi-Fi network. Maintain optimal system performance with a focus on Microsoft 365-based applications. · Cybersecurity and Compliance: Oversee cybersecurity protocols, ensuring data protection, risk management, and compliance with best practices. · Team Leadership: Direct and support a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of continuous development, service excellence, and strategic alignment. · Digital Learning Support: Collaborate on digital learning initiatives, supporting the integration of innovative technology solutions that enhance learning. Ideal Candidate Profile: · Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field; certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, and PRINCE2 Practitioner are highly desirable. · Technical Skills: Expertise in Active Directory, Entra AD, Microsoft Intune, and cloud-based solutions, with a solid grounding in cybersecurity and virtualisation. · Experience: At least 5 years in IT management, preferably within an educational setting, with proven experience in strategic planning, budget management, and team development. · Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders, alongside strong leadership and motivational skills.
