can someone help with this please. how to network my xp home edtion laptop with my xp pro desktop computer

You need to create what's known as a Workgroup. You can then share printers and files between both computers.

my both computer are on workgroup name is 2mshome" I have a desktop with XP home Edition and a laptop with XP Pro. The diagram below describes my network connection.

 

Internet<-->DSL modem<-->Hub<-->XP Home Edition

Access Point Router

|

XP Pro

Either one of my computer can see each other.

That's incorrect, you can join a workgroup in XP Home and share files and printers.

 

With XP Pro you can join a workgroup or a domain.

Only limitations on a workgroup are the maximum of 5 connections for an xp home and 10 for pro.
