[bromcom] Test document import matching via AdNo/UPN for me?

We have a few Bromcom test instances and document matching upon bulk import ( https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-import-student-documents/ ) isn't working in them.

 

It's not clear whether this is an issue with the test instance, some undocumented thing we're missing or the functionality not actually working as described. Files upload without issue, but matching (via AdNo or UPN) doesn't work.

 

So if you have Bromcom and a spare 5 minutes, could you:

 

1. Rename a sub-5MB PDF with a student admission number.
   
2. In Bromcom, click in the top-right corner (your user icon) > My Documents
   
3. Click Import
   
4. Select Admission Number
   
5. Select "Begins with" or "Contains" as appropriate
   
6. Drop the PDF onto Step 03
   
7. Click Upload
   
8. Click Next
   
9. Ideally you should now see a suggested student based on the admission number in the filename.
   

 

We've tried variations of admission number and UPN in the filename and we have no matches. That's across two schools.

I had this from a friend at another school last week - I tried it on my system and couldn't get any matches to work either.

 

Thought I was doing something wrong too.

Confirmed in production. Imported using either "Begins With" or "Contains" and either "Admission" or "UPN" fails (with files appropriately named).

^ Yeah, got the "we think we fixed it" email this morning, but haven't had a chance to test.

This is still broken for me. Has anyone seen this working since the 7th Oct?

I've tried across 10 schools, and all showing the same symptoms as Pete originally described.

Starts with & Contains work.

Ends with does not.

It was working for my colleagues on the 8th and for me on the 18th when I tested it. Using Admission numbers in the filename since we're using Salamander exporter.

 

Just tested it now (17:17 23-10-2024) with a random PDF and it's working.

 

Edit - we're using "starts with" predominantly since that's the filename format we're using.

Try it with “ends with” and it’ll fail across the board. Does across 6x Bromcom instances here using either UPN or Adm
