Windows 11 Laptops - Please Wait

Hi all,

 

Got a bunch of laptops that keep sitting on please wait when rebooting on any internet connection other than the schools domain. So home, mobile etc.

 

1. Nothing of any great issue in Gpresult
   
2. Disabled all GPOs- no change
   
3. Removed all local profiles
   
4. Removed anti virus
   
5. removed and rejoined to the domain
   
6. ran all windows updates.
   
7. I do get one error in event viewer that may be of use - the winlogon notification subscriber took seconds to handle the notification event (createsession) but not quite sure how I can resolve this?
   

 

Anyone got any idea?

Long shot: Try disabling the power saving on the Wi-Fi device (only have wired on my machine, but same principle):

Have you turned on Verbose Status Messages and seeing if that tells you what it's hanging on?

 

Sounds like it's trying to connect to something (Mapped Drive or similar) or could be an offline files cache issue?

From memory, turn off wait for network at startup. Helps ours boot up a lot quicker!

What's the result of checking WinHTTP proxy settings

Urgh, we had this for several users today. Is only on first logon, had to force reboot the devices. Second logon was still slower than usual. Windows update?
