needhelpnow Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 (edited) Hello, I'm currently trying to utilize Mosyle MDM to deploy app management. For some reason when I try to restrict certain apps it either does all or none. Can anyone help with this issue? FOR EXAMPLE: if i block facetime but not calculator. ill push the policy and calculator will be blocked as well even though I didn't select that app. Therefore ill select apps and it applies it to them all still, even though I specified which apps to allow. Could it be a mosyle problem would switching MDM's help? Edited August 15, 2024 by needhelpnow
LeMarchand Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Where are you doing the blocking? Ours seems to work in "Restrictions".
barryklontz Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 In Mosyle, We use the Homescreen setup and have all the apps placed on there where we want, and this has an auto generate option to generate a listing of approved/blocked apps.
LeMarchand Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 See if Restrictions helps. Make sure they are applying to a suitable group (we only have shared).
LeMarchand Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 No Macs, so can't be sure, but it looks like you can do the same for MacOS.
Brimstone Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 This may well depend on the version of Mosyle you are using, free or paid for.. In Jamf Pro you can create a software restriction record for each app you want to block 1
