TV Suggestions for a PE changing room

Been asked to look at getting a couple of TV's set up in our changing rooms for PE staff to use, projecting from their laptop. These would obviously need some sort of encasing, or at least a protruding plastic cover over the front.

 

Anyone recommend anything? Or have set up something similar?

Depends on your budget and features wanted. A proper digital signage screen sounds like it would fit the bill, most come with casting built-in now. I have been told NewLine are shipping non-interactive screens with all the features their interactive screens have from September at a ridiculous price, though not confirmed with a quote as of yet.

You’ll want a toughened glass one like the Newlines suggested - I can imagine a regular TV lasting a week in there (“don’t kick footballs in the changing room!” *smash*)

Watching that reminded me of this video from Linus Tech Tips when they tested an "Unbreakable" TV from China.

It survived what they did to it but they didn't test it while mounted to a wall and I'd imagine kids would just see this as a challenge.

Hi @Olliedawg I would also suggest an interactive screen (even if you don't use the interactivity) due to the toughened glass and typically more robust chassis. At BenQ our screens are rated 9H on the Mohs mineral hardness scale (our older screens were rated 7H). A lot of screens in the market are still 7H. For reference, 9H is twice as hard as 8H and 8H is twice as hard as 7H. They also feature built in casting (supporting Windows, Mac, iOS, iPadOS, Android). Hi @Olliedawg if you drop me a DM with your email I'll send you a short video I did. We can't guarantee a football, cricket ball or chair would not break it (nothing is indestructible) however, but hopefully the video showcases the toughness.

We did this in the past: The display in the girls changing room lasted quite well, but the boys room was a different story. Replaced several times - footballs were usually the cause (muddy footballs leave prints!).

This was in a Good (technically outstanding) school in a middle class area.

Be sure to buy some spares if you can't afford one of these
