Olliedawg Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Any recommendations for a cloud platform to handle the following - List catering menus to parents via app/website - Take online payments for school dinners - Integrate with MIS *beneficial* A primary school we are taking on in september is currently with Kingswood, so we need to find something to accomodate.. They don't use Bromcom, otherwise we would have gone with MCAS cashless SchoolGrid looks promising at a glance, have contacted them for more information
DGardiner Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 primaries actually do anything other than first come first served on a rota? We use parentpay, the kids pay a flat rate of £2 per day and have whatevers on offer from the menu for that week we post the menu pdf/allergen stuff to our websites for people who want to view

I don’t think it actually needs to integrate with a MIS which opens up more options. not a bad idea regarding parentpay, will keep that in mind! Will see what Schoolsgrid comes back with also, their site looks promising
Cazab Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 For the primaries I work with, the dinners selection & payment system is done through the MIS (Arbor), with the additional Meals module. When this was done with a separate system, they used Tucasi School Cash Office for payments, which has a limited number of MIS integrations. They do have to choose from veg, halal, meat, etc each day, and there is a variation on the menu each day.

LeMarchand Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Two of mine use Tucasi School Cash Office with the children choosing their lunch as part of registration. Not sure about MIS integration. The other uses SchoolGrid, but this is via the caterers. Dinner choice and payment is online; not sure abour MIS integration. If it wasn't for the way the caterers provide pretty shoddy hardware, I'd probably have very little to do with SchoolGrid. SCO requires regular updates.

I've got a demo with Tuscani tomorrow morning - so will see how that goes! Reviews look good.. School BM is dealing with SchoolGrid as she enquired direct to them
Olliedawg Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 Had the meeting this morning with Tuscani - went well & was happy with what was shown. SchoolGrid never got back to us so thats out the window now
pete Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 We just had a similar thing (needed to change catering provider at 3 primaries). We looked at SchoolGrid (came back quickly to us and looked promising). For other reasons (planned MIS change to something that incorporates meals properly) we've gone with a homegrown interim measure until we roll out the MIS. We're near you, so if your catering manager wants to pick the brains of ours, PM me.
