3CX - Tell me all about it please

Hi everyone,

 

So we've been with Tel Group for a while and thinking of moving away. We've got Yealink phones on site.

 

I'm hearing many people tlak about the how great 3CX is.

 

How does it work, is it easy to setup? Would you recommend?

Yeah, it's really intuitive to set up & use, extremely popular so support is easy as pie and generally just works! Easy to self-host if you don't mind farting around with the SIP setup (which isn't difficult) and equally easy to find a provider that will host and support you with it too.

We self host it and since setup, its never had an issue - as Todd Howard would say "It just works"

 

3CX often run training sessions which go in-depth on pretty much all you need to now about 3CX. Can't see anything running atm, but they pop up every now and then. I set up a test 3CX and got everything working with a temporary number, before going ahead with the full install.

Also 100% recommend. We spun up a hosted 3CX instance which was super easy, it's easy to set up and administer and you get really good bang for your buck with it!

I need to look at 3cx next our old mitel system is getting a bit creaky

It is really easy. You can always download the free version and test internally using the windows client to see what it is like. I used the free version at home for 4+ years but went for the Pro version self-hosted. Super easy to setup extensions but make sure the extensions are on the list for compatibility and that will make provisioning them super easy too.

Personally use a mix of Yealink phones, and some Fanvill PA3's for PA systems (lockdown etc)

 

Thats then sat on a cloud hosted 3CX instance with Enterprise Annual licence, like others have said, pretty much fit and forget.

 

They have just also released a major system and UI update, looking at it over the next week to see whats changed.
