Anyone else unable to access SharePoint via M365?

All other services such as Outlook, Word, Excel can be reached.

Happening on both personal devices at home, and domained devices when in schools so cannot be GPO or filtering.

Nothing reported on Entra ID logs for the user or devices.

Logged with Microsoft

The short term solution seems to be a browser reset which would indicate something cached is corrupt but not sure where to start with that.

Both browsers (Edge/Chrome) are up to date.

Thanks in advance

We've had problems with it failing the automatic login - for a cross trust access - since last week. It tries to login but fails after a number of attempts. It work okay with Firefox but an issue with Chrome and Edge. I've sent instructions to use incognito window to access the 'other' sharepoint.

We are experiencing the same, across Edge and Chrome.

Mainly affecting access to OneDrive & SharePoint but we have been having issues with Outlook access today too.

I've had a ticket open with Microsoft since Monday but not even had an agent assigned yet - has anyone had any further information or correspondence from them?

Thanks,

Tom

I logged this on Monday, didn't call me until yesterday. Asked for the email addresses of affected users (maybe 10 of 200 users affected)

Will come back when I get a resolution.

Thanks Jensen.

It's very frustrating as it seems to be affecting our users increasingly randomly, working for a period for some and then going again - we've tried browser resets etc but that seems to be very hit or miss too.

Hi Tom,

Just curious - if you log out of everything (sharepoint, 365) in Chrome, then clear all cookies in the browser (not just the site) for 'all time', then close and re-open, does it work?

For critical staff I've sent a link to Firefox for Desktop that they can install as a normal user. Also that they need to pin it to their taskbar if they want to find it again!

Thanks,

Paul.

Hi Paul,

After logging out of everything in Chrome & Edge, clearing all cookies for all time, it worked for a period of time (a few hours) before then reverting back to the same again.

We are going to roll out Firefox to critical users now, is it working correctly in Firefox for you all the time with no issues?

Thanks,

Tom

We've not had any issue with Firefox since the problem emerged on late Thursday last week. It's my default browser so wasn't aware there was a problem until I started getting reports.

We're starting to see general issues with oneDrive and Outlook now as well (in Chrome).

Thanks Paul.

Just had a call with Microsoft now, they confirmed the issue which looks to have been affecting some tenants since the end of October.

They suggested clearing cache etc or alternatively moving to a different browser. No estimated time given on the fix.

They got back to me yesterday - see response below.

Hello Jensen,

It was great speaking with you again today.

As we discussed, the issue with users not been able to sign into SharePoint Online is a known service incidence that we are investigating and working towards a resolution.

Kindly refer to the below articles as regards steps to run PSR (Problem Steps Recorder) and then Fiddler trace, while replicating the issue.

How to use Problem Steps Recorder - Microsoft 365 Apps | Microsoft Learn

Record steps to reproduce a problem - Microsoft Support

For Fiddler Trace, please use the below information to access SARA and complete the fiddler trace.

We look forward to your response.

Another call last night to say it is being actively worked on and I should see the global service issue within Admin panel but I cannot. Emailed them back with a screenshot, this issue is definitely not in the 'active issues Microsoft are working on' list.

No ETA as of yet and workaround for now is to perform browser resets.

Anyone else had any further info?

I had another similar call yesterday - no further info given or any ETA.

They kept telling me that it's only isolated to some tenants but was being worked on.

We've deployed Firefox to critical users and it seems to be working ok so far.

The service event that Microsoft Support kept pointing me to on the admin console:

Users may be unable to access Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Skype for Business while under Selective isolation

Final status: We’ve validated our short-term solution and have ensured that it will be viable for addressing the exclusion problem. However, for the short-term solution to be applied, affected users should contact support representatives as it requires manual implementation.

Looks to have supposedly been resolved - I'm going to contact Microsoft Support again now.
