installing PSF

has anyone managed to automate the install of PSF client side installs. PSFin_Client msi requires you to enter the server address and port and then we have to do a custom install that leaves out the database manger. Is it possible to to some how script this?

I believe you can open the MSI in Orca and specify all those parameters and then save the MSI again...

 

Our MAT provides an MSI that doesn't ask questions prepared in this way.

There will likely be some properties that you can pass to the installer.

Failing that, or if there are a lot of them, you can use Orca to create an MST file. Then pass that file to the TRANSFORMS parameter

Orca seems pretty good. I've managed to manipulate the installer to pre-check some boxes but I'm struggling on how to fill in text boxes that ask for the server name and the port number. Has anyone had any experience in this?

sod law that after looking and looking I resolved it just after I posted the issue. I've now got to get it to select one of three buttons. 'Typical', 'Custom' or 'Complete'
