cn198 Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Hi all, When entering staff absence in SIMS, I want to be able to record that a sick note is not needed for the absence. I originally thought of having an option in the "Certificate Type" drop down menu for "Sick note not needed", but our SIMS manager can't see a way to edit the menu options. I then wondered if we could add a tick box option on the absence options, but it seems there isn't a way to edit or add to those options. So has anyone got any ideas of what we could do here? Image of the sort of place I want something is below... Thanks! Chris
coolhands Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I had a look and it doesn't look like you can insert anything within the absence window. The closest you can get is to add something as per my screenshot but it is no use to you as it can't relate to a specific absence. You can create these type of tick box items which you can put in various places, but you don't have full control to put them where you want. Tools>Setup>User Defined Fields
cn198 Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 Yeah that's what we're seeing, and presume you don't know of any way to alter the drop down menu of something like the certificate type within the absence window?
bobsmith Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 How about make a new absence category - "sickness - no note needed" and map it to sickness for the official dfe reason?
