Hi folks,

I've got an issue with updating our group policy config to hide drives.

I can’t remember if it was my predecessors or I, but group policy here is configured to hide drives as per this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/group-policy/using-group-policy-objects-hide-specified-drives

The DCs were updated a year or three ago and it looks like the system.adm file was replaced. I don’t remember whether the config changes were stored in this or another ADM file, but I can’t spot it in any custom files. Curiously the historic config is still taking effect.

I have copied system.adm file and added the additional drive settings to hide, added that to administrative templates as a custom policy template and… my changes don’t appear in the policy editor.

Anyone have any ideas as to why the custom adm file isn’t taking effect?

Thanks

Sorted it. I should have been looking at the WindowsExplorer.admx file in the central store. Not sure if that's a wise place to have edited them previously, but that's where the changes were made.
