[mdt] Any cool things?

Morning all,

 

Having been an MDT advocate for many years and with it all just working away as it should. I'm wondering if anyone has any interesting tweaks, fun things that their MDT does to speed things up, add things in etc.

 

MDT does what it says on the tin and works for us - but it's always fun to see what else we can do.

Nothing to fancy - choosing which OU to place a PC in

I set the PackageName as the computer name - great for remembering what PC number I am up to. ie ITPC01, ITPC02...3..4 and so on. I always find myself forgetting.

A fairly normal one but drivers set out in specific folders

Yeah. I don't choose the OU. Never needed that. They get dumped in a central one and I move them. Helps me keep an eye. Re-deployed ones just pick their old name and fit straight in.

 

Driver selection is done and is great. I check the driver packs once every term to update them centrally. I also update the Windows version imported.

 

Quite boring really. Just wanted something cool.

Few tips:

Any installers you cant automate you can use VBS scripts and AHK to press the buttons

I've got some custom scripts to add M$ store and bits to LTSC which are a must!

 

You can also add snappydriverinstaller if you really want to (i've got it as an option on my deployments)
