School Radio Station Software

Hi all,

 

Could anyone please recommend some software to broadcast audio from one PC to five other PCs?

 

I have been told that we previously used Airfoil but Airfoil is now only available for MacOS.

We are looking to use Myriad 3 as our radio software.

We just had an install from Anderson Tiger. They installed Virtual DJ Pro on our Studio for us and Jazzler for Jingles etc

Thanks dsmith8. However, we have all of the necessary equipment and just need an Airfoil replacement.

VLC should enable you to do this.

Thanks andy_b. Unfortunately, our radio station is going to be used by students and teaching staff. Hopefully someone will recommend a solution that would allow our non-technical users to stream to the other PCs without IT knowledge.

You could create shortcuts with the necessary parameters already complete: https://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation:Streaming_HowTo/Command_Line_Examples/ then they would literally double click the icons to start.

Broadcast using this tool or stereo tool if you want it to sound nice. I have a config guide if you want

+1 for Icecast. Its free and I've had it working successfully doing this.
