Could someone create an MSI Installer for new Audacity 3.2.3 please?

Hello,

 

We are looking at installing Audacity 3.2.3 and want to rule the software out to the machines.

 

I notice they only offer exe file which of course I can not deploy through GPO. We also do not have intune installed on the server, our network logins are not connected to our Microsoft accounts due to the fact that we use Google.

 

Would anyone be able to create an MSI or point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your response. Are you able to instruct me on how to do this? As I have never had to do this before, this will be the first time doing it without MSI.

 

Do I just install as normal and copy the folder? Then deploy the shortcut?

They provide a zip file that you can extract and then put the folder in a suitable place.

 

You can install with a batch file. The relevant bit would be:

 

"\audacity-win-3.2.3-x64.exe" /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP-

I installed to my local PC then copied the Audacity files to a shared folder (that is mapped for all users) EDIT: I then created a shortcut in the root of shared folder Edited January 9, 2023 by chazzy2501
