dan00204 Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Any thoughts about upgrading to Windows 11 22H2?
LeMarchand Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 I've done it on my (unsupported) machines. Very few officially W11 capable machines in any of my sites, so otherwise a bit pointless.
Oaktech Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Mine just did it automatically and other than a few changes to location of settings and slightly updated look and feel to certain things, like the print queue, there are no real differences.

One of the problems I've found with using unsupported hardware: You'll get the updates for the version you have installed, but you have to install the upgrade to the next version up manually. This isn't too onerous or slow and it's only twice a year, but not something I'd want to do school wide!

I've only got it on a couple of unsupported devices and due to the difficulty of updating it I'm pushing all my schools into hardware replacement cycles that end in all windows devices being native 11 compliant by September '26 (I'd hoped for December '25 but the budget says no.)
Chclark Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 We have it on a few machines. Found a few issues application guard was blocking teams on a non admin account so deployed the reg key to turn this off. And credential guard didn't like our enterprise WiFi setup so had to adjust the setup for this as the other option was to disable it but would rather not disable security features.
robjduk Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 We did it and the new search bar buggers things up a little bit. Had to clear the appdata to get things back to normal and now good.
