Paranoid about SIMS and FMS being time bombed

I have a huge amount of paranoia about us moving away from SIMS and FMS and that will the school still be able to access the data after 1st October.

 

Is anyone able to confirm that after the Summer update that SIMS and FMS will not be time bombed or at least have a Delorian I can borrow?

We moved away from FMS in February, FMS is still accessible. We just can't perform any upgrades to it so it's two version out now.

We never used FMS at my sites, but I have fired up the SIMS VMs a couple of times since we switched (last time over a year later). Obviously no updates will be applied but all the data was accessible.

I have worked in education for a very long time, I know that I will never be fine

 

But at least I may sleep a bit this weekend knowing that Finance Audit is in on Monday and FMS "Should" work. Backup taken and a virtual server dated a few weeks ago is ready to spin up just in case

Depending on when your backup was made and which date you've back-dated your server to, this may not work. If the "current date" is older than the last entry in FMS it gets really grumpy with you.

Now when I open SIMS I get the following message pop up. Anyone know what we can and can't do with the "unlicensed SIMS"? (I'm assuming ESS are disabling things client side rather than server side.)

We received ours via email on 4th April this year. You can do everything you used to be able to, you can't apply upgrades.

Yeah, I had the same panic this September. Just had to create an academic year that covered the date the server was on eg 22/23 and I was back in.
