Wireless IP Cam to stream to browser

Hi all,

my school have asked me to set up a camera to stream a live feed of some chicks they have hatched. I have previously set up an IP cam in my home which I can access thro' an app so hopefully a similar setup but just using a browser.

Is this easy to set up? I can see a couple of posts from years back but hopefully someone will have some more up to date info.

Hopefully I can get this sorted before the chicks grow up and lay eggs of their own!

We used an old laptop with a webcam attached and live streamed to youtube

Was that easy to set up? Could it be done with an old iPad maybe?

Don't see why not. We have a Youtube channel, it's just a case of logging into youtube and "going live" as it where. Just make sure it's not recording sound.

I set this up many years back but I had to disable it during the day. They only had a 20Mbps ISP connection and using the stream killed the internet. Basically a NAT rule to a IP camera. Would I do that in the same way now prob not unless I could put the camera in a DMZ or completely separate from the network and do it that way. The YouTube Stream way might be an alternative as it will not involve opening any ports etc.

I've used a Unifi IP camera before, just needs a POE injector or a POE switch.
