This might seem like a really dumb question, what are the benefits?

Also how was the process of getting all the kids accounts signed up with it?

It's a replacement to Microsoft Publisher, a video editor, a presentation tool, digital design tool - and it's free for schools.

We kids already have a Google account. I enabled SSO and setup SAML in our Google admin panel. The users could then just click on "Sign in with Google" and they are added to our Canva domain automatically.

You sign up the domains your school/MAT use, so they just use "Sign in with Google" SSO and automatically get the premium account.

Is there any set-up to integrate work between class/teacher (I mean do you have to set-up teachers and classes) or does it link into Google Classroom?

"Canva for Education connects to all your classroom tools

Canva for Education integrates with core classroom tools, including ...... Google Classroom ......"

Or is it all just done in-platform, saved and then shared out?

Also could do with someone proof-reading their website...

Looks great, but having just had to explain to a bunch of colleagues why they'll have to abandon the Mote voice notes Chrome extension that they were all raving about last year because free-turned-into-not-free, I'm [even more] wary of getting anyone invested in a free-for-edu product that isn't absolutely essential. How long did it take for the process to complete? We have signed up, gone through SSO however on their side nothing seems to be linked yet and they aren't getting back to us quickly..

I'm currently in contact with their support... everything setup as expected, correctly registered a school account with the forms ... but we have no SSO options at all!!

iirc, you need to specifically request the sso as they need to do some form of whitelisting for the domains. once thats done your admin account has an option to enable sso login, then force sso login for domains.

it comes wit ha nice step by step powerpoint

I contacted them via the form, they replied within 2 days with lots of helpful guides and tips. But sadly, there was still not SSO options in our account. Their support has now directed me to a third line engineer which I've had to book a Teams call with to sort.

Yeah we are the same where they seem to be taking a week at a time to reply to emails and getting nowhere.

We're at the stage where we're waiting for the SSO login to appear.. they did it two weeks ago apparently.

We're currently looking at this. Do you need to install the client for all the students? If so, how do you do it for "All Users" as the installer seems to put it in the AppData folder.

Ours just worked. They sent me Instructions after I filled in the online Docusign stuff

How are you authenticating users? through google workspace or something else?

Don't know yet as we're still at the looking stage. We aren't a Google school. We have O365 but I'm not sure you can SSO with that?
