SIMS Correct report structure for SISRA

Hi all,

 

I'm currently assisting with data, though have limited experience with SIMS as a teacher.

 

I was wondering if anyone can advise on how to create appropriate reports for upload into SISRA. I'm struggling to find all the appropriate columns required for "Prepare Student Data", but perhaps more importantly, I'm not sure how to get SIMS to create a grade list report either.

 

Forgive such basic requests. I'm new to both SIMS and SISRA with respect to data, and just don't know where else to turn having exhausted available opportunities at my end.

 

P.S If by some miracle someone has the perfect templates on their sims that they can export for me to download, that would be great. Just noticed this as an available option.

this one is thankfully easy.

 

there's two basic files you need for sisra - a student report and a results broadsheet.

 

SISRA have a .rpt definition file for sims on their help section. just download that and customise if you have any extra fields you use.

 

the broadsheet is easiest done as a marksheet rather than a report. just make one with all the subject columns you need and make sure you export it with whatever unique ID you use in sisra for student matching.

 

prepare both with using the sisra excel add-in - also available from their help section. The user id key you need to activate it can also be found in the help section - it's unique to each school.

Sadly I'm not quite sure how to pull in all subject grades for all pupils within a school year from SIMS. Is this something you're aware of how to do? Thanks once more for your previous help. Certainly improved my understanding of both SIMS and SISRA.

Sorry for the late reply - quite a busy time of year.

 

I personally find the easiest way is to make a new marksheet template. On this template add all the subjects set to read only.

 

create a marksheet for that template - base it off a year group rather than a teaching group and you've now got all the kids.
